Configure your Customer Hub settings

Customer Hub can help you create a frictionless and personalized shopper experience. In this lesson, you'll learn how to configure key settings, customize the design, and ensure customers can easily access their profiles, orders, and personalized recommendations.

Before you begin

Before exploring Customer Hub, keep these 2 things in mind:

  1. Customer Hub syncs data into Klaviyo from your online store. If your storefront is on Shopify, you must ensure that your customer account links are enabled and visible. These links allow customers to create or sign in to an account.
  2. We are constantly updating and improving in-app functionality, so your experience may differ from the video below. First-time users may see a walkthrough modal to help with setup, while returning users may not see it again.

Explore key setup options

From product recommendations to account management and support, every detail shapes the customer journey.

Click through the tabs below to explore key features and settings to help you make Customer Hub work for your business. Remember: before setting any of these changes live, preview the experience yourself using the View Live button.

Customize content blocks

Content blocks let you surface key information, personalized details, and calls to action. You can use them to prompt actions (e.g., “Manage subscription”), display loyalty points or subscription status, and direct users to important pages.

Create & configure content blocks:
To create a content block, you must:

  1. Go to Customer Hub > Design.
  2. Click to Edit your Hub.
  3. Select the "+" button.
  4. Either use a pre-built template or start your own content block.
  5. Customize your block: Add a name, description, link, visibility settings, and optional banner image. Use personalization tags to display customer-specific details, such as rewards points or membership status.

Manage & edit content blocks:
Once your content blocks are set up, you can adjust their order, edit their details, or hide them instead of permanently deleting them. This allows you to refine the customer experience over time without losing valuable content.

Enabled favorited items:‍
Enable favorites to let shoppers save and revisit products, enhancing their shopping experience. Favorites appear in the "For You" tab, allowing quick access to previously saved items. This feature helps boost engagement and drive conversions.

Enable extensions

Use the Extensions page to enhance customer personalization with data-driven tools that increase engagement and drive conversions. For example, you can enable all of the following:

  • ‍Product recommendations‍
Product recommendations in Customer Hub show up to 5 products based on browsing and purchase history. If no data is available, best-sellers from the last 90 days appear.
  • Reviews‍
Enable Klaviyo Reviews to display star ratings under products, helping shoppers make informed decisions. Ratings appear in recently viewed, favorited, and recommended product sections, boosting trust and conversions.‍
  • Loyalty ‍
Connect your loyalty provider (like Smile.io) to display real-time loyalty data, including points, rewards, and progress toward the next reward. Logged-in members see personalized incentives, while non-members get prompts to join. This boosts engagement and drives repeat purchases.
  • Subscriptions
Integrate your subscription provider (like Recharge or Skio) to surface subscription information within Customer Hub orders.

Adjust design

Customize the look and feel of your Customer Hub to ensure it blends seamlessly with your website. You can inherit design elements from your site or adjust fonts, colors, buttons, and layout on your own to match your brand’s aesthetic.

Additional recommendations:

  • Enable the Hub widget (in the “Closed” hub toggle), which allows users to easily reopen Customer Hub when minimized, similar to a sign-up form teaser.
  • Preview the experience and catch inconsistencies before setting changes live using the View live button.
  • For advanced customization, use Custom CSS to apply unique styling beyond default settings.

Configure support options

Customer Hub brings support closer to the self-service shopping experience, letting customers track their own orders, find answers to their questions, and get help without leaving your website.

Follow these steps to provide support on your hub:

  • Provide immediate support:
If you use Klaviyo Helpdesk, enable this so your tools work together effectively. Otherwise, you can direct users to an external support page or connect with Gorgias live chat or ticketing for real-time assistance.
  • Make information easy to find:
Link the Get Help button to your FAQ or Contact Us page so customers can easily access support from their order history. This button appears on the Orders tab, giving customers a direct path to assistance when they need it.
  • Simplify your returns process:
If you use Loop, Aftership, Parcel Lab, or Narvar for your returns platform, you can set up a returns portal link that auto-fills customer details so shoppers can start a return with just a few clicks. Quick support for common questions like “How long until I receive my refund?” reduces strain on your team, speeds up response times, and makes the customer experience better for everyone.
  • Enable Web Chat
Set up Web Chat for real-time support. This lives at the bottom of your Extensions options, where you can click to customize Web Chat Settings. There, edit who can see this chat, where conversations are handled, and the welcome message when starting a chat.

Validate onsite experience

Once you’ve completed the configuration steps, validate your Customer Hub experience to ensure everything looks polished and functions as expected. More specifically, you should:

  • Review your branding, content, and design choices to confirm they align with your site’s overall aesthetic.
  • Double-check that key elements, such as your CTA, support options, and loyalty or recommendation features, are displaying correctly and providing a seamless experience for customers.
  • Ensure your terms of service and privacy policy are properly linked to maintain transparency and compliance.

Use the View live button to preview changes in real-time and ensure a consistent, on-brand experience for your site visitors.

Enhance your Customer Hub experience

Expand the dropdowns below to learn simple ways to increase engagement and make your Customer Hub more valuable for your customers. Each option includes steps to help you set up and apply these features in your account.

Customize the Customer Hub widget

The widget is a small, floating element on your site that makes Customer Hub easy to find and open. Because it is always visible, similar to a form teaser, it encourages visitors to return to the Hub throughout their journey. Early results show that enabling the widget can significantly increase engagement, making it one of the simplest ways to drive more interactions with your hub.

To customize the widget:

  1. In Klaviyo, select Customer Hub from the left-hand navigation.
  2. Select Design > Edit your Hub.
  3. Toggle on the Closed option for your Customer Hub design, as shown in the GIF below.
  4. Edit the widget as needed and click Save.

Pro tips:

  • Set the visibility to All shoppers to ensure your shoppers can easily find and engage with Customer Hub on your site.
  • You can determine which page shoppers land on in your Customer Hub, including the For you tab, the Favorites tab, or the Chat tab.
  • Use the Position on desktop settings to ensure your widget does not conflict with any other popups, animations, or teasers on your site.
Enable favorites to display in Customer Hub

Favorites let customers save and revisit products, making it easier for them to come back and purchase later. This feature is a proven revenue driver, and adding it to your hub creates a clear path for repeat sales.

To enable Favorites in Customer Hub:

  1. Head to Customer Hub > Design.
  2. Click Edit your Hub to enter the Editor.
  3. Select the “+” icon in the left-hand navigation to add a feature.
  4. Select Favorites
  5. In the Choose icon dropdown, pick an icon style (i.e., a heart or a plus sign).
  6. Use the preview to see both the unselected and selected states of the icon.
  7. Click Save.

Once enabled, a Favorites section will appear in the Customer Hub window, as shown below and a favorites button will now appear beneath products in Customer Hub.

Unlock integrations with content blocks

Integrations add powerful features such as loyalty, subscriptions, and reviews directly into your Customer Hub. These integrations create more opportunities for engagement and make the hub a central place for customers to interact with your brand.

Content blocks allow you to surface integration data such as loyalty points, membership tiers, or subscription status. You can personalize these blocks with tags and conditional logic so customers see the details and actions that matter most to them.

To add integrations with content blocks:

  1. Enable your integration in Klaviyo.
  2. In Customer Hub > Design, click + Add block.
  3. Configure the block with content and personalization tags.
  4. Preview and publish.
