Power your BFCM strategy with Klaviyo Composer

Use Composer to ensure your account is optimized, ready for traffic, and built to spur revenue growth.

Leverage Composer to make your BFCM a success

Think of Composer as your AI marketing and content agent inside of Klaviyo. It has all of your business context, allowing you to:

  • Make better marketing decisions.
  • Identify areas of opportunity across Klaviyo.
  • Accelerate marketing execution.
  • Improve results over time.

This is especially important during BFCM, as it’s typically the biggest conversion season of the year. Click through the tabs below to review how Composer comes in handy before, during, and after BFCM:

Before BFCM

Prior to the holiday weekend, prompt Composer to:

  • Audit your flow performance during last year’s BFCM, asking: What worked? What didn’t?
  • Review top-performing Instagram content and creator trends (if you use Klaviyo’s Social Marketing) to inform which creators and themes to feature in your BFCM push.
  • Build new campaigns and flows from scratch that can gather more first-party data before peak season hits.

During BFCM

During Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend, use Composer to:

  • Ask for conversion trends and campaign performance as your sale unfolds.
  • Build last-minute omnichannel campaigns and flows (email, SMS, push).
  • QA each campaign (i.e., check for quality) before content goes live each day.

After BFCM

After BFCM is over, continue to use Composer to:

  • Review and share BFCM campaign and flow performance (e.g., opens, clicks, and revenue by segment or channel).
  • Uncover any segment coverage gaps from the weekend.
  • Build holiday campaigns and flows based on what you learned for December through January.

Build BFCM prompts

Remember to draft specific prompts (and continue prompting until you get what you need). Note that the more data you have in Klaviyo and the longer you have been using it, the more accurate all of the responses will be.

Looking for prompt ideas for BFCM and beyond? Use prompts from the Klaviyo AI Prompt Library in Composer and other AI tools.

Build specific BFCM campaigns

Help me build a campaign to announce our major BFCM sale to an early access group. The sale is on [our signature product] for [insert your discount or other promotion]. Target this as an early access opportunity for our VIP shoppers, and state that we will extend our sale to our full audience the following day.

Audit flows ahead of the holiday traffic

Review whether my flows are optimized for an influx of engagement during Black Friday Cyber Monday. What are current gaps in the content and where are there opportunities to drive more conversions? Compare against how these flows performed during last year's BFCM.

New to Composer and not sure where to start?

Let’s walk through step-by-step instructions so you feel prepared to find and utilize Composer to the best of your ability.

Use Composer in Klaviyo
Identify your ask
1

First, consider what you want to ask of Composer. If it’s an open-ended discovery question, proceed to step 2. If, instead, you want Composer to help with a specific Klaviyo topic (audit a flow, build a campaign, etc.), navigate to that designated tab in Klaviyo at this time.

Open Composer in Klaviyo
2

Click to open Composer via the designated icon in the top-right corner of your screen. This will open the Composer panel, where you can chat with the agent.

Write your first prompt
3

Choose from a prompt template (e.g., if you are in the Flows section of Klaviyo, then the sample prompts will be flow-specific). Otherwise, type a clear, specific question or request from scratch. The more context you give, the better your response will be. For example: "Which of my flows are underperforming, and what should I do to improve them?"

Review the output
4

Composer will generate a response based on your Klaviyo data and business context. Read through the output carefully; it may include analysis, recommendations, or drafted content ready for your review.

Refine with follow-up prompts
5

Not quite right? Keep prompting. Ask Composer to adjust the tone, focus on a different segment, or go deeper on a specific insight. Think of this process as a conversation, not a one-shot request.

Implement the resulting Composer guidance
6

Once you're happy with the output, apply the changes that Composer recommends, or proceed with any next steps to continue drafting, reviewing, or scheduling the content. Always review AI-generated content against your brand voice and business goals before publishing.
