    Compare your performance with benchmarks

    Learn how to use benchmarks to compare your marketing performance within your industry and peer group.

    See how you stack up with AI-powered benchmarks

    Personalized benchmarks show how your performance metrics compare to anonymized data from 100 similar Klaviyo customers, helping you assess channel effectiveness and prioritize revenue-driving strategies. Our AI-powered tool analyzes peer performance and ranks yours, highlighting underperformance and providing targeted improvement suggestions.

    Eligibility for benchmark data
    To access benchmarks, ensure you meet these data requirements:

    • Email benchmarks
      You need to have sent at least 25 emails in the last 6 months. Any account that provides its industry will see industry-level benchmarks. These benchmarks update with new data on the 10th of every month, starting with the month following eligibility.
    • SMS campaign benchmarks
      You need to have sent at least 25 SMS messages. You will not see industry-level benchmarks unless you meet the eligibility criteria.

    Explore your benchmarks

    Use the Benchmarks tab to gain insights into your performance compared to peers and industry standards. Customize your data view by adjusting the time range, choosing between table, bar, or line graph views, and toggling Detailed View for deeper analysis. Export your data to share with your team or save for future reference.

    Overview

    Monitor a high-level summary of what aspects of your marketing program perform well and what aspects need improvement.

    Evaluate:
    • Top performing metrics
    • Bottom performing metrics
    Business performance

    Review key performance indicators pertaining to overall business health, so you can monitor trends over time and focus on areas that need improvement.

    Evaluate business performance by:
    • Average Cart Size
    • Average Order Count
    • Average Order Value
    • % of Orders Returned

    You can also expand the How we chose your peer group module to see the exact criteria that is being use to create your peer group comparison.

    Email campaigns

    Evaluate a breakdown of key performance indicators that specifically relate to each email campaign's marketing and deliverability.

    Evaluate deliverability performance by:
    • Bounce rate

    SMS campaigns

    Evaluate a breakdown of key performance indicators that specifically relate to each SMS campaign's marketing and deliverability.

    Flows

    Compare your flows performance over time and in relation to other companies similar to your own. Evaluate the performance as well as individual flow performance through a variety of comparative views.

    Signup forms

    Provides a view of your popups’ success, particularly around how your form submit rates stack up against companies similar to your own. Flyout and embedded forms are not supported on this page.

    Interpret your benchmarks data

    Discover how to analyze and use the Benchmarks tab to gauge your performance and identify areas for improvement.

    Display options

    There are several ways to configure your benchmarks data; edit the following to hone in on specific data:

    • Time range: Select a pre-determined range or select a custom date range to narrow in on the timeframe you are interested in.
    • Views: Select between table, bar and line graph view to better visualize the data on each page.
    • Detailed view: Toggle Detailed View to expand your reports for more detailed analysis.
    • Export: Click Export on any page within the Benchmarks tab to save for later or share with your team.

    View Klaviyo Guidance when visualizing data

    When you change the view to a bar graph or a line graph, you'll see an indicator for Klaviyo's guidance of where you should aim to be. In the example below, guidance is shown as a gray dotted line.

    Performance statuses

    Klaviyo assigns performance statuses to show you how you compare to your peers. Here is what they mean:

    • Poor: The given metric is less than the 25th percentile for your peer group.
    • Fair: The given metric is between the 25th and 50th percentile for your peer group.
    • Good: The given metric is between the 50th and 75th percentile for your peer group.
    • Excellent: The given metric is greater than the 75th percentile for your peer group.
