Design flexible email templates using the drag-and-drop editor

Create templates for each of your content pillars that contain all of the core elements you could need. Then, use these templates week after week to save time and build brand consistency.

Create templates that help you go faster

Managing a marketing calendar is probably just a fraction of your workload, so you need an efficient, repeatable way to build messages month after month. Our drag-and-drop email editor allows you to build templates with all of the building blocks you could need and arrange them into an ideal layout. Customize the template each time you use it by adding, removing, or tweaking elements to fit your specific campaign or flow needs. You can choose from our library of pre-designed templates, keep what you like, remove what you don’t, and then save your own customized version.

Get a detailed walkthrough of the functionality of the drag-and-drop editor. We’ll show you how to start with a basic template layout and customize to fit your content needs. All of the tools you need for curated, personalized email messages are right at your fingertips.

Note: Our team is constantly making improvements to the editor. You may notice a few cosmetic differences between the video screenshots and the editor in your account. All strategies and recommendations remain the same.

    Limitations of custom fonts

Custom fonts like Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, or fonts that your team has designed, can upload directly into Klaviyo from the font dropdown menu in the editor when updating text content. Scroll to the bottom of the dropdown and click Add Font. A modal will appear that allows you to add your custom font. Learn more about custom fonts.

Note: Most large email inbox providers, like Gmail, do not support custom web fonts. This means that the fallback font you choose is likely what recipients will see when they open your emails. Be sure to choose a fallback font that you like.

    Build key universal content blocks

The beauty of universal content is that you can make an update to the block and those updates will be applied to all templates and draft campaigns that contain the block (as long as they have not been unlinked and edited independently). While every brand will create saved blocks that are unique to their audience, there are a few key universal blocks that will be helpful for almost every brand. Consider building the following universal content blocks for your account:

    Header link bar

What to include: Your logo and links to essential categories of your site.

When to update: Update with seasonal versions of your logo and have this apply across all templates using the block. You can also swap out links and categories based on current promotions/time of year.
