    Build an omnichannel strategy with Klaviyo Advanced KDP

    Klaviyo’s Advanced KDPis powerful because it lets you apply insights and analytics across multiple channels seamlessly. In this video, we’ll show you how to build an effective omnichannel strategy using key features from Klaviyo’s Advanced KDP —so you can boost engagement, drive conversions, and improve customer retention. While SWAK is a fake brand, the examples we use are from real customers.

    Prepare to implement Group Membership API

    With the Group Membership API, you can extend your existing segmentation and targeting strategy out to your own website to create a truly cohesive customer experience. This API is specific to Klaviyo Advanced KDP and allows you to dynamically personalize content and experiences on your website based on a visitor’s membership to a list or a segment.

    Scope out your onsite personalization strategy

    Before you make any implementations, work with your team to map out how you can extend your existing segmentation and targeting strategy onto your website at the audience level. Keep in mind, this API will not support personalization at the profile level, meaning you cannot create tailored experiences based on an individual customer’s profile properties. Think of this as an extension of your current campaign segmentation strategy.

    Personalize onsite content by segment

    Are you launching a new store? Use Group membership API to personalize onsite offers based on location. Target customers near your Boston location with a personalized Banner to come in store for 25% off.

    Step 1: Create segment with city equals Boston.

    Step 2: Create a personalized banner with an offer to show when this segment comes to your website.

    Recommendation: Send a one-time email or SMS campaign to Boston customers to drive traffic to your site and encourage customers to engage with you in-person for a different experience which they may prefer over online shopping.

    Note: This feature does require code implementation and maintenance that Klaviyo does not provide. If you have a full-time developer on your team, or you work with an agency who can manage development for you, this feature is a great fit for you. You can also use this API in combination with an onsite personalization platform like Shogun.     Don’t have developer resources? Here are tactics to drive an omnichannel strategy without a developer

    Your onsite experience can be a game changer for your omnichannel strategy, but it isn’t your only option. Here are some strategies to help drive an omnichannel strategy using Klaviyo Advanced KDP, even if you do not have developer resources to set up your group membership API.

    Retarget unsubscribed audiences with Meta or Google

    Are your email and SMS campaigns resulting in customers unsubscribing and moving to needs attention? Retarget these customers with an ad on Meta or Google.

    Step 1: Create an RFM segment of needs attention and email consent is unsubscribed.

    Step 2: Create an irresistible ad with a discount to entice your customers at risk of churn.

    Step 3: Send audience to social media. Right now, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Messsenger, Pinterest and Google Ads are available now (with more integrations coming in the future).

    Automate direct mail campaigns to customers before they churn

    Is your needs attention cohort growing even after many emails and campaigns? Send a direct mail campaign to customers who “need attention” and haven’t engaged with email or SMS in the last 90 days.

    1. Build a segment of customers who are in the “needs attention” RFM group and have not opened or clicked email or SMS in the last 90 days.

    2. Create a flow that is triggered by a customer joining the segment.

    3.Send a webhook in a flow to trigger an outbound notification to send a direct mailer to this customer.

    Recommendation: Include a time-expiring incentive with a unique code from their mailer!

    Target a signup form for your champions or loyal customers who are not part of your VIP program

    Create a personalized onsite experience without a developer using onsite forms.

    1. Build a segment for customers who are in the “loyal” or “champion” RFM group and are not part of your VIP program.

    2.Create an onsite form highlighting your VIP program following the instructions here.

    3.In the form editor, navigate to the Behaviors and Targeting tab.

    4. Under targeting, choose Show to specific profiles in a list or segment. This will allow you to display the form only to selected customer groups.

    5.Check the box to include these lists and segments.

    From the dropdown, select the segment you created in Step 1 for Loyal and Champion customers who haven't joined your VIP program.
