In this lesson, you'll learn how to configure key settings, customize the design, and ensure customers can easily access their profiles, orders, and personalized recommendations.
Before you begin
Before exploring Customer Hub, keep these 2 things in mind:
- Customer Hub syncs data into Klaviyo from your online store. If your storefront is on Shopify, you must ensure that your customer account links are enabled and visible. These links allow customers to create or sign in to an account.
- We are constantly updating and improving in-app functionality, so your experience may differ from the video below. First-time users may see a walkthrough modal to help with setup, while returning users may not see it again.
Explore key setup options
From product recommendations to account management and support, every detail shapes the customer journey. Click through the tabs below to explore key features and settings to help you make Customer Hub work for your business.
Customize content blocks
What content blocks do:
Content blocks let you surface key information, personalized details, and calls to action. You can use them to prompt actions (e.g., “Manage subscription”), display loyalty points or subscription status, and direct users to important pages.
How to create & configure content blocks:
To create a content block, go to Customer Hub > Design. In the right-hand side preview, find the "+" button. From here, you can use a pre-built template or build your own content block, then customize it with a name, description, link, visibility settings, and an optional banner image. Use personalization tags to dynamically display customer-specific details, such as rewards points or membership status.
How to manage & edit content blocks:
Once your content blocks are set up, you can adjust their order, edit their details, or hide them rather than permanently delete them. This allows you to refine the customer experience over time without losing valuable content.
Favorited items
Enable favorites to let shoppers save and revisit products, enhancing their shopping experience. Favorites appear in the "For You" tab, allowing quick access to previously saved items. This feature helps boost engagement and drive conversions.
Enable extensions
Use the Extensions page to enhance customer personalization with data-driven tools that increase engagement and drive conversions. For example:
Product recommendations
Product recommendations in Customer Hub show up to 5 products based on browsing and purchase history. If no data is available, best-sellers from the last 90 days appear.
Reviews
Enable Klaviyo Reviews to display star ratings under products, helping shoppers make informed decisions. Ratings appear in recently viewed, favorited, and recommended product sections, boosting trust and conversions.
Loyalty
Connect Smile.io to display real-time loyalty data, including points, rewards, and progress toward the next reward. Logged-in members see personalized incentives, while non-members get prompts to join. This boosts engagement and drives repeat purchases.
Subscriptions
Integrate Recharge or Skio to surface subscription information within Customer Hub orders.
Adjust design
Customize the look and feel of your Customer Hub design to ensure it blends seamlessly with your onsite experience. You can inherit design elements from your site or adjust fonts, colors, buttons, and layout on your own to match your site’s aesthetic.
We recommend enabling the Hub widget, which allows users to easily reopen Customer Hub when minimized, similar to a sign-up form teaser.
For more advanced customization, Custom CSS allows you to apply unique styling beyond default settings.
To see your changes in action, use the View live button to preview the experience as a customer would. This lets you to catch any inconsistencies and make necessary adjustments before your Customer Hub goes live.
Configure support options
Configure support settings to ensure customers can quickly find help when needed.
You can direct users to an external support page or connect with Gorgias live chat or ticketing for real-time assistance. Additionally, enabling a returns provider with a portal URL streamlines the return process, reducing the need for manual support.
Connect your returns provider to ensure a smooth, stress-free experience without needing to look up all of the order details.
By offering clear, accessible options, you minimize friction, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall customer experience.
Validate onsite experience
Once you’ve completed the configuration steps, validate your Customer Hub experience to ensure everything looks polished and functions as expected. Review your branding, content, and design choices to confirm they align with your site’s overall aesthetic.
Double-check that key elements, such as your CTA, support options, and loyalty or recommendation features, are displaying correctly and providing a seamless experience for customers. Also, make sure your terms of service and privacy policy are properly linked to maintain transparency and compliance.
Use the View live button to preview changes in real-time and ensure a consistent, on-brand experience for your site visitors.
Enhance your Customer Hub experience
Expand the dropdowns below to learn simple ways to increase engagement and make your Customer Hub more valuable for your customers. Each option includes steps to help you set up and apply these features in your account.
Customize the Customer Hub widget
The widget is a small, floating element on your site that makes Customer Hub easy to find and open. Because it is always visible, similar to a form teaser, it encourages visitors to return to the Hub throughout their journey. Early results show that enabling the widget can significantly increase engagement, making it one of the simplest ways to drive more interactions with your hub.
To customize the widget:
- In Klaviyo, select Customer Hub from the left-hand navigation.
- Select Design.
- Open the Widget menu to adjust settings and appearance.
Pro tips:
- Set the visibility to All shoppers to ensure your shoppers can easily find and engage with Customer Hub on your site.
- You can determine which page shoppers land on in your Customer Hub, including the For you tab, the Favorites tab, or the Chat tab.
- Use the Position on desktop settings to ensure your widget does not conflict with any other popups, animations, or teasers on your site.
Enable favorites to display in Customer Hub
Favorites let customers save and revisit products, making it easier for them to come back and purchase later. This feature is a proven driver of engagement and revenue, and adding it to your hub creates a clear path for repeat sales. Customers can mark products they are interested in and view them in the Favorites section of Customer Hub.
To enable favorites in Customer Hub:
- In Klaviyo’s left-hand navigation, select Service > Customer Hub.
- Open the Extensions tab.
- Under Favorites, check the box to Enable favorites.
- In the Choose icon dropdown, pick an icon style (heart or plus sign).
- Use the preview to see both the unselected and selected states of the icon.
- Click Save.
A favorites button will now appear beneath products in Customer Hub.
Once you have enabled the Favorites extension, a Favorites section will appear in the Customer Hub window, as shown below.
Pro tip: Once Favorites is enabled, set up a favorites reminder flow in Klaviyo to automatically nudge shoppers about items they have saved. You can use the built-in “Customer Hub Favorites Reminder” template, which triggers after someone has favorited an item and shows their top saved products to encourage a purchase.
Unlock integrations with content blocks
Integrations add powerful features such as loyalty, subscriptions, and reviews directly into your Customer Hub. These integrations create more opportunities for engagement and make the hub a central place for customers to interact with your brand.
Content blocks allow you to surface integration data such as loyalty points, membership tiers, or subscription status. You can personalize these blocks with tags and conditional logic so customers see the details and actions that matter most to them.
To add integrations with content blocks:
- Enable your integration in Klaviyo.
- In Customer Hub > Design, click + Add block.
- Configure the block with content and personalization tags.
- Preview and publish.
