Flows and deliverability
Automated emails and text messages, or flows in Klaviyo, typically see higher engagement than manual campaign sends. As a result, they’re great tools to improve your existing deliverability rates and reputation as a sender.
Keep in mind, engagement rates will vary based on your content and industry. For example, in the apparel and accessories industry, flow emails saw the following metrics on average :
- Open rate of 39.85%,
- Click rate of 6.59%,
- Conversion rate of 1.84%.

Monitor your flows
Review flow-specific overview report
Once you’ve logged into Klaviyo, head to Flows. Select a specific flow you’d like to analyze, and then click into any email message. Here, you’ll see a breakdown of message performance to gauge which emails excel and which can be improved. You can also dig deeper into the data by selecting View details.
You can use this report to :
- Access recent flow/message performance
- Troubleshoot a single flow
Set up a flow performance report
To set up a flow performance report, head to Analytics > Custom Reports. Then, build your own report from scratch or select a pre-built option, like Email Deliverability by Flow. You can use this report to see a breakdown of deliverability across multiple flows and messages.
Next, select Schedule Report to send your report straight to your inbox on a set timeline. This is a great way to automate your reporting, stay up to date on performance, and maintain continuous success.
Compare your flow benchmarks
To compare your own deliverability metrics to those of the brands in your peer group, head to Analytics > Benchmarks > Flows.
Here, you can assess whether or not you’re reaching your potential across key performance indicators. Look at aggregated performance as well diving into benchmarks for specific flows, like abandoned carts or welcome series. You want to prioritize improving anything marked 'Fair' or 'Poor.

Get an overview of flow performance
To gain a full understanding of your flow performance, head to Analytics > Overview Dashboard. Here, you can add cards to dive deeper into performance data over time.
The following cards allow you to monitor flow-specific data:
- Flows Performance
- Flows Performance Detail
From there, filter by a specific date range, conversion metric (e.g., placed order), or channel (i.e., email or SMS). You can use this report to get an overview of flow performance, including send totals and trends over time.
