Register a lead

Learn how to register a lead in the Klaviyo partner portal, and access our FAQs to ensure that you are able to get your payout.

How to register a lead

Registering a lead is a simple process, but we'll walk you through some key points to ensure you have the information you need to get credit for the valuable work you are doing with clients in Klaviyo.

Referred revenue share

There are a lot of new terms that are critically important to your overall bottom line with Klaviyo. Please refer to the dropdowns below to understand your referred revenue requirements, the revenue share model, and how you can earn program credit if you did not meet the referred revenue share requirements.

Referred account revenue share

Table showing the referred revenue share percentage and payment duration for each tier of the Klaviyo Partner Program

When one of your referred leads becomes a paying Klaviyo customer, you are paid a percentage of the monthly recurring revenue (MRR) for a specified period of time. The percentage and period of time are determined by your tier status at the time the lead is accepted.

For instance, when you start as a partner, you’re in the Klaviyo Partner tier. In this tier, you'll earn a 10% revenue share from email and text message MRR for 12 months per referred account. Refer to the table for further details on referred revenue share per tier.

For referred accounts, payments are processed within 45 days after the end of each calendar quarter if a minimum revenue share of $200 has been accumulated. If you do not meet the $200 minimum payout, you will be paid retroactively the following quarter. Regardless of the payout amount, Klaviyo will pay the partner out during the next payment period.

How to earn referral credit

Refer businesses to Klaviyo using your unique link or submit leads through the partner portal.

We consider factors like:

  • When you submitted the lead
  • Your relationship with the lead
  • Communication of accurate information about the lead
  • Existence of a prior, active Klaviyo sales relationship with the lead

Note: Leads must become Klaviyo customers within 90 days and have no prior sales relationship with Klaviyo.

Referral credit is awarded for qualified leads within 90 days. If the sales cycle is going beyond that initial 90 days, please email partnerships@klaviyo.com.

For tier status evaluation, the trailing 12 months of MRR referred will be considered.

Program credit

Program credit is the MRR referred or MRR managed credit that counts towards a Partner’s respective tier.

There are cases where a partner may be recognized and rewarded for their work in the form of program credit, but not revenue share. These can include but are not limited to:

  • Klaviyo was already in the sales process directly with a lead you submit and is co-sold together.
  • A different agency partner already submitted the lead.
  • An existing agreement is in place with another partner that works with the lead you submitted.
  • A partner is not allowed to accept revenue share.

Please refer to the Partner Payouts FAQ for more information on our payout requirements and process.
